These organizations are led by a group, Indivisible, which Bowman describes as an entity that aims to “create what they call an inclusive democracy.” “So they’re not looking to have a constitutional republic. It goes much deeper than just stopping Trump, as

American Paralysis And Decline

VICTOR DAVIS HANSON: American Paralysis And Decline OPINION VICTOR DAVIS HANSONCONTRIBUTOR February 29, 20247:01 PM ET “We can bear neither our diseases nor their remedies.” So shrugged the ancient historian Livy (59 B.C –A.D. 17) of the long decline of Roman national character that, in his age, finally ended the Roman Republic. Like a patient whose medicine proves worse than the disease, Livy lamented that the Romans knew that they had become corrupt and lawless. But the very contemplation of the hard medicine needed for restoration — and the furious reaction that would meet the remedy — made it impossible

Eight Startling and Uncomfortable Ways the Democrats emulate the Nazi Party

The Democrat party has been a stain on the nation since its founding in 1828 by a virulently racist president, Andrew Jackson.  It was the party of slavery and the Confederacy, it initiated racial segregation by legislating and brutally enforcing Jim Crow laws.  It unabashedly aligned with and supported the Ku Klux Klan for over nine decades, thus promoting antisemitism, religious persecution and xenophobia.  Over the past 60 years, the Party has embraced and promulgated cultural Marxism which espouses the transformation of traditional American culture and society.  The Party has succeeded in undermining the family structure and religious freedom as well as mainstreaming abortions up to the point

The inhumanity of the green agenda

The ‘sustainability’ regime is impoverishing the world. JOEL KOTKIN COLUMNIST 24th April 2023 ‘Man is the measure of all things’, Greek philosopher Protagoras wrote over 2,500 years ago. Unfortunately, our elites today tend not to see it that way. In recent years, the overused word ‘sustainability’ has fostered a narrative in which human needs and aspirations have taken a back seat to the green austerity of Net Zero and ‘degrowth’. The ruling classes of a fading West are determined to save the planet by immiserating their fellow citizens. Their agenda is expected to cost the world $6 trillion per year for

Fiddling America Away

Friends tremble at our sudden decline. Enemies rejoice. Neutrals make the necessary adjustments to join the ascendant non-American side. The symptoms of our decline abroad appear everywhere. The more Joe Biden brags about the crippling oil sanctions on Russia, friends like India and allies like Japan ignore

Which Countries Hold the Most U.S. Debt?

March 24, 2023 By Dorothy Neufeld Which Countries Hold the Most U.S. Debt in 2022? Today, America owes foreign investors of its national debt $7.3 trillion. These are in the form of Treasury securities, some of the most liquid assets worldwide. Central banks use them for foreign exchange reserves and private investors flock to them during flights to safety thanks to their perceived low default risk. Beyond these reasons, foreign investors may buy Treasuries as a store of value. They are often used as collateral during certain international trade transactions, or countries can use them to help manage exchange rate

10 Steps to Save America

Yes, there is a way. But is there the will? By Victor Davis Hanson December 18, 2022 Most Americans know something has gone terribly wrong—and very abruptly—with the United States. They are certain that our wounds are almost all self-inflicted. The current pathologies are not a result of a natural disaster, an exhaustion of natural resources, plagues, or an existential war. Crushing national debt and annual deficits, spiraling food and fuel costs amid “normal” seven-percent-plus annual inflation, bread-and-circuses entitlements, a nonexistent border, a resurgence of racial tribalism, pandemic violent criminality, and humiliation abroad—all these pathologies are easily cited as symptoms of a

In August 1619, a pirate ship, the White Lion, stopped at Jamestown and traded 20-some captive Africans for food. The Africans were treated as indentured servants and soon released. Fifteen months later, in November 1620, an English ship blown off course on its way to Virginia ended up off the barren coast of Massachusetts. It landed more than 100 men, women and children. The 1776 Report demonstrates a more sophisticated grasp of history than that of its critics.

What is a nation? The no-sooner-established-by-President-Trump-than-abolished-by-Presidient-Biden “President’s Advisory 1776 Commission” understandably by-passed this question in its initial report. The report deals with a particular nation—our own—and had enough to do without entering the deeper thicket. But what is a nation?  In his 1983 book, Imagined Communities: Reflections on the Origin and Spread of Nationalism, the political scientist and historian Benedict Anderson proposed what has become the most popular answer among social scientists. A “nation,” in Anderson’s view, is a kind of myth. People imagine a community, larger than any actual community, and imagine themselves part of it.  This doesn’t happen by accident, says Anderson.

Why do Democrats cheat?

How Progressives Are Dismantling America’s Foundation

December 24, 2020 By William DiPuccio Undergirding the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution is a set of philosophical principles that are under assault by Progressives.  These founding principles, derived mostly from the Federalist Papers, provide the lens through which we read and understand the Constitution.  Without this lens, the meaning of the Constitution and American law becomes putty in the hands of every special interest group. Progressivism seeks to replace the founding principles with a new set of doctrines based on the tenets of social justice — a system which elevate the rights of “protected classes” (non-whites, LGBTQ, women, etc.) by

Growing Evidence Election Was Rigged Decisive (but targeted, non-ubiquitous) election fraud occurred on November 3. What follows is an explanation and the evidence behind it. Starting in 1997, Smartmatic systems were developed in Venezuela with built-in functionality permitting precinct administrators to override security features it appeared to incorporate. Among the extraordinary privileges it gave administrators were abilities: to shave votes continuously from one candidate to another; to batch ballots for later “adjudication” but which instead became a pool of votes that the administrator could simply assign to the candidate of choice; to generate blank ballots. Through a series of licensing agreements, bankruptcies, and corporate

The Difficult Way Forward By Tom Mayer It used to be said that America was fortunate in that its politics were played between the 40-yard lines: that we agreed on the most important things and argued over the details within a small range of policies. That hasn’t been true for many years, the playing field being stretched as far as it can go. But the problem now is not that the playing field has expanded, the game itself has changed. The object of the game as well as the rules, are practiced very differently by the two sides. Republicans are still

Then you would undermine the police, the military, and law enforcement. You’d use every opportunity you can to divide people by race, religion, and class. You would stoke feelings of grievance regardless of how much progress was being made to promote racial reconciliation and equal opportunity. You would attack churches, too. In the standard usage of the term, a “right” is something that exists simultaneously among people.

Why knowing Roman history is key to preserving America’s future

The United States didn’t simply poof into existence, fully formed, from the brains of the Founders. History guided them as they crafted the American system of governance. This included the European traditions they were partially rejecting, but also elements from an older generation of republics that they wished to copy, especially the Roman Republic. And while our problems today feel distinctly modern, Rome still has lessons that can guide our republic.
