Do we need a capitalist civil war?

The working class suffer when elites agree BY JOEL KOTKIN America’s democracy resembles feudal Japan. Joel Kotkin is the Presidential Fellow in Urban Futures at Chapman University and executive director of the Urban Reform Institute. His new book, The Coming of Neo-Feudalism, is now out from Encounter. May 4, 2022 We Americans like to think of ourselves as a thoroughly modern people — living proof of what, with enough toil and grit, the rest of the free world can one day hope to be. And yet for all our progressivism and idealism, America’s political culture finds itself unable to escape the past. We

Pick a Side in the Next Civil War

The following text has been copied and pasted from a friend’s post. Couldn’t have said it better! How to pick a side in the next civil war… I used to think I was pretty much just a regular person, but I was born “white” into a two-parent household which now labels me as “Privileged”, racist and responsible for slavery. I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today’s standards, makes me a fascist because I plan & budget. But I now find out that I am not here because I earned it, but because I was “advantaged”. I am

This is a war against evil and for national survival, nothing less.

The Difficult Way Forward By Tom Mayer It used to be said that America was fortunate in that its politics were played between the 40-yard lines: that we agreed on the most important things and argued over the details within a small range of policies. That hasn’t been true for many years, the playing field being stretched as far as it can go. But the problem now is not that the playing field has expanded, the game itself has changed. How do civil wars happen?

Two or more sides disagree on who runs the country. And they can’t settle the question through elections because they don’t even agree that elections are how you decide who’s in charge. That’s the basic issue here. Who decides who runs the country? When you hate each other but accept the election results, you have a country. My appreciation to Joe Dugan and everyone involved in organizing it and making it a reality once again. And to Don Neuen and Donna Fiducia of Cowboy Logic Radio for the introduction. And to anyone and everyone still fighting the good fight!!!   This is a civil war. There aren’t any soldiers marching on Charleston… or Myrtle Beach. Nobody’s getting shot in the streets. Except in Chicago… and Baltimore, Detroit and Washington D.C. But that’s not a civil war. It’s just what happens

Civil War History Defended Againts Haters

Shelby Foote’s Civil War History Defends America Againts Insatiable Haters Like Ta-Nehisi Coats Enough with the trendy historical revisionism. White House Chief of Staff John Kelly was right: the Civil War came about because compromise failed. By John Daniel Davidson NOVEMBER 2, 2017 White House chief of staff John Kelly’s interview Monday night with Laura Ingraham, in which he expressed the mundane and historically straightforward view that “the lack of an ability to compromise led to the Civil War,” has produced a spasm of simple-minded and myopic commentary. Our intellectual class, unable to think about the war between North and
